Tim West Photography
For many people traveling to countries on a tourist visa, specific requirements may differ from place to place. It is always a good idea to look into what requirements your desired destination may hold before departing. People travel for various reasons and as summer approaches, traveling as a tourist can be quite common. There are many popular destinations across the globe that people tend to favor for various reasons.

Northern Ireland is a popular destination due to its close proximity to mainland Europe. As it is part of the UK, no tourist visa is required for UK or EU nationals to visit. For other nations, different requirements must be met depending on your country of origin and the duration of your stay.

When traveling to Northern Ireland, your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay. In addition, one blank page is required in your passport for an entry stamp. When it comes to tourist visas, they are not required for anyone staying in the country for 90 days or less.

Some popular tourist destinations located in Northern Ireland include the Mournes, which are located in Newcastle along the North Coast. The Gian’t Causeway is also a spectacular sight to see, as it is comprised of naturally formed basalt columns along the coast.

Along with the magnificent natural beauty of Northern Ireland, there are plenty of local cities that offer spectacular day and nighttime activities such as Belfast, Whitehead, and Londonderry.

France is also on the list of popular destinations for tourist travel. Paris is known as the City of Lights and attracts millions of visitors each year. Since France is part of the EU, no visas are required for citizens of the UK or any other European Union, however a Schengen visa, also called a "C" visa, is a required short stay visa (up to 90 days by semester) which is valid for the 26 States that are members of the Schengen agreement. Any other foreign nationals must apply for a 90-day tourist visa in person at their local French Consulate.

France attracts many people on account of its beautiful landscapes, delicious cuisine and famed monuments. The Eiffel Tower is a great favorite to locals and foreigners alike. If you travel to France, make sure to check out the artistic cultural attractions as well such as the Louvre Museum located near the Palais-Royal Musée du Louvre (lines 1 and 7) Metro stop.

The Netherlands is located in the EU and attracts tourist from all over due to its liberal policies, unique culture and cheap attractions. Since the Netherlands are a part of the EU, if you want to stay in the Netherlands for up to 90 days, you may require a tourist visa, depending on your nationality. You will require a visa if you are a national of one of these countries. You can apply for a Schengen visa at the Dutch mission consulate in the country where you live. Consult the list of embassies and consulates that issue short stay (Schengen) visas to see where you can apply for a visa.

Amsterdam is a popular city in the Netherlands as it boasts rivers that run along its streets. The tourist nightlife also makes Amsterdam a popular tourist destination as the coffeeshops and nightclubs entertain individuals of all ages. Don’t forget to check out cool stops like Madame Tussauds wax museum.
